Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he’ll eat for weeks – Takayuki Ikkaku, Arisa Hosaka and Toshihiro Kawabata

February 14, 2008

This has variations too. “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat for the rest of his life”. “Give a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a day. Put a man on fire, and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life”, etc.

To give a man something, it will last only short. Teach a man something, and it’ll last forever. We have no use for gifts, if we do not learn.
